Data accuracy, forecast limits, and not-legal-advice disclosure
Paiqi Calculator publishes source-backed tracking and forecasting of the Visa Bulletin. This page explains the limits of what we publish, what counts as a fact versus a forecast, and what is explicitly not legal advice.

Not legal advice, not an attorney-client relationship
Nothing on this website is legal advice. Reading this site, emailing us, filing a GitHub issue, or using the priority date tracker does not create an attorney-client relationship. We are not a law firm. We are not immigration attorneys. We are not an accredited representative under 8 CFR 292.1.
Decisions about filing an I-485, an I-140 amendment, an EB-2 to EB-3 downgrade, an adjustment of status versus consular processing, or any other immigration action must be made based on the official Department of State Visa Bulletin, the USCIS adjustment-of-status filing charts for the relevant month, and, when appropriate, consultation with a licensed immigration attorney in your jurisdiction. Do not rely solely on this site.
If you need legal representation, the American Immigration Lawyers Association maintains a public directory at ailalawyer.com. Many immigration attorneys offer a short free initial consultation.

Source accuracy and time lag
The site pulls the Department of State Visa Bulletin and USCIS filing-chart pages on a scheduled automation job. Under normal conditions, the site reflects a new official release within a small number of hours after it appears on the official DOS or USCIS page. That gap is not zero.
If a bulletin has just been published on travel.state.gov and you are reading our site within the same hour, it is possible that our cached page has not refreshed yet. Always cross-check against the official DOS page and the official USCIS filing chart page before making filing decisions. Links to both are available from every page of this site.
Occasionally, DOS republishes a bulletin with a correction (typo in a preference category, revised footnote, different PDF metadata timestamp). When we detect such a correction, we re-ingest the bulletin. Between detection and re-ingestion, our page may briefly show the earlier version.

Forecasts are forecasts, not guarantees
The release-date prediction shown on this site is produced by a backtested statistical model trained on rolling same-month history. Its backtest accuracy is documented on the methodology page. Past accuracy is informative, not binding.
Any given month the model can be wrong. The Department of State can release a bulletin on a day the model assigned a low probability to, or can delay a bulletin past the model's predicted window entirely. The visible confidence score represents relative likelihood within the candidate business days shown, not an absolute promise.
Similarly, any category-movement commentary you see on this site ("EB-2 India moved forward by eight days") is a description of the change between the prior and current official bulletin, not a prediction of how the category will move next month. Retrogression can and does happen; forward movement slows when annual visa supply nears its quota ceiling.

Derived tools: priority date tracker, charts, reach maps
The priority date tracker on the home page is an informational comparison tool. It reads the currently cached official cutoff date and tells you, arithmetically, how far ahead or behind your entered priority date is. It does not determine eligibility to file. Whether you can file an I-485 in a given month depends on USCIS's choice to honor Chart A or Chart B for that month, your specific preference category and country of chargeability, and your complete case record.
The cutoff charts, reach maps, and movement visualizations on this site are derived from the same cached official cutoff tables. They are intended to help you see trend and momentum. They are not legal findings.

Third-party links and external content
This site links to government sources (travel.state.gov, uscis.gov), community forums, and immigration-related third-party websites. We do not control those sites, do not vouch for their accuracy or privacy practices, and do not earn referral revenue from them.
If a government page changes its URL structure, some historical links on this site may redirect or break. Please report broken links through the issue tracker listed on the Contact page.

Advertising, sponsorships, and conflicts of interest
This site may display advertising through Google AdSense or a comparable ad network. Advertising revenue does not influence which official bulletin months are tracked, how forecasts are labeled, or how uncertainty is disclosed. Our editorial policy page describes the firewall between monetization and coverage in more detail.
We do not accept paid placements from immigration law firms, visa agencies, or consulting businesses. If that ever changes, a dated disclosure will appear in the editorial policy and on each page where a sponsored item is shown.
